For Child Care Providers
Overview
During the first five years, the primary adults in a child's life—parents, caregivers, child care providers, grandparents, etc.—play a key role in developing his or her kindergarten readiness skills. It is quite common for children who have not yet started school to spend the majority of their day with a child care provider.
Child care providers can have an enormous impact on the development of the language, literacy, math, reasoning and social-emotional skills necessary to insure a child's success in school.
READY! classes share essential research-based information about how children learn and develop as well as related tools, toys and activities designed for guided play. Children are born learning and love to learn. Spending just a few enjoyable minutes a day in purposeful interaction with a child, care providers foster relationship skills and build strong minds and a solid foundation for a life-long love of learning.
Local communities, school districts and other community groups generally offer the Child Care Provider's READY! for Kindergarten program. We've designed our program to provide practical training. The effectiveness of READY! for Kindergarten training is recognized by many licensing agencies and can be used for ongoing professional development requirements.
